The journey begins with your arrival at Bagdogra in India, followed by a scenic drive to the border town of Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan. After completing immigration formalities, the journey continues through beautiful mountain roads toward Thimphu, the charming capital city nestled in the Himalayas.
In Thimphu, travelers will explore several important cultural and spiritual landmarks including the sacred Memorial Chorten, built in memory of Bhutan’s Third King, and the magnificent Buddha Dordenma overlooking the valley. Visitors will also experience Bhutanese traditions at Simply Bhutan Museum and encounter Bhutan’s unique national animal at the Motithang Takin Preserve.
The journey then continues to the beautiful valley of Paro, one of Bhutan’s most scenic destinations. Here travelers can visit the historic Rinpung Dzong and the fascinating National Museum of Bhutan, both showcasing Bhutan’s rich history and traditional architecture. One of the highlights of the trip is the excursion to the world-famous Paro Taktsang, also known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff high above the Paro Valley. Travelers may alternatively enjoy a scenic drive to Chele La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan, offering spectacular Himalayan views.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival at Bagdogra – Drive to Phuentsholing (Approx. 4 hrs.)
Your journey begins with your arrival at Bagdogra Airport in India, where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. From here, enjoy a scenic drive toward Phuentsholing, the bustling border town that serves as the gateway to Bhutan. The route offers views of lush forests, rivers, and foothills of the Himalayas. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and relax after your journey. In the evening, you may explore nearby markets or simply unwind at the hotel while preparing for the adventure ahead. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
Day 2 Phuentsholing – Drive to Thimphu (Approx. 5 hrs.)
After breakfast, complete the immigration formalities to enter Bhutan and begin your drive to Thimphu, the peaceful capital city nestled in the Himalayan mountains. Along the way, visit the beautiful Kharbandi Gompa, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding plains. You will also stop at the picturesque Chhukha Waterfall for photographs and a short break. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check in at your hotel and spend the evening at leisure exploring the calm and scenic surroundings. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 3 Thimphu Sightseeing – Drive to Paro (Approx. 1 hr.)
After breakfast, begin a guided sightseeing tour around Thimphu. Visit the sacred Memorial Chorten, built in honor of Bhutan’s Third King and a place where locals gather for prayer. Continue to the magnificent Buddha Dordenma, a massive golden statue overlooking the valley. Explore Bhutanese culture at Simply Bhutan Museum and see the country’s national animal at the Motithang Takin Preserve. Later, enjoy panoramic views of the city from BBS Tower before driving to the beautiful valley of Paro. En route, stop at Saba River Point for scenic views. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 4 Paro Excursion – Taktsang Monastery Hike or Chele La Pass Drive
After breakfast, you may choose between two exciting excursions. The first option is a hike to the iconic Paro Taktsang, also known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, perched dramatically on a cliff about 900 meters above the Paro Valley. This sacred monastery is one of Bhutan’s most famous landmarks and offers breathtaking views during the hike. Alternatively, travelers may choose a scenic drive to Chele La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan, providing stunning views of the Himalayan ranges and the beautiful Haa Valley. Later, enjoy free time in Paro town or relax at the hotel. Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 5 Paro Sightseeing – Drive to Phuentsholing (Approx. 5 hrs.)
After breakfast and check-out from the hotel, begin exploring Paro’s important cultural sites. Visit the fascinating National Museum of Bhutan, which houses an impressive collection of artifacts reflecting Bhutan’s history and traditions. Continue to the historic Rinpung Dzong, a magnificent fortress-monastery known for its beautiful architecture and historical significance. After sightseeing, begin your scenic drive back to Phuentsholing through winding mountain roads and picturesque landscapes. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 6 Phuentsholing – Drive to Bagdogra (Approx. 4 hrs.) – Departure
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin the drive back to Bagdogra Airport. Enjoy the final views of Bhutan’s peaceful landscapes and surrounding foothills during the journey.
