Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival at Paro Airport – Drive to Thimphu (Approx. 1 hr.)
Your journey begins with your arrival at Paro International Airport, where our representative will warmly welcome you. From here, enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful Himalayan landscape toward Thimphu, the charming capital of Bhutan. Along the way, stop at the historic Tachog Lhakhang, a sacred temple connected by a traditional iron chain bridge built by the famous Tibetan saint Thangtong Gyalpo. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check in at your hotel and relax. The evening is free for leisure, allowing you to explore the peaceful surroundings of the city or unwind at the hotel. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 2 Day Excursion to Punakha (Approx. 2 hrs. one way)
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to the beautiful valley of Punakha. The journey passes through the famous Dochula Pass at an altitude of 3,150 meters, where you can admire the stunning 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens and enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges on clear days. Upon arrival in Punakha, visit the impressive Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful architectural landmarks located at the confluence of two rivers. You will also walk across the famous Punakha Suspension Bridge, offering spectacular views of the valley. Later in the evening, drive back to Thimphu for an overnight stay.
Day 3 Thimphu Sightseeing – Drive to Paro (Approx. 1 hr.)
After breakfast, begin a cultural sightseeing tour around Thimphu. Visit the magnificent Buddha Dordenma, one of the largest sitting Buddha statues in the world, overlooking the valley. Continue to Simply Bhutan Museum, where you can experience traditional Bhutanese culture and lifestyle. You will also visit the Motithang Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s unique national animal, the takin. Another interesting stop is the Handmade Paper Factory, where traditional Bhutanese paper is produced using ancient techniques. In the evening, drive to the scenic valley of Paro and check in at your hotel. Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 4 Paro Excursion – Taktsang Monastery Hike or Chele La Pass Drive
Today offers one of the most exciting experiences of your Bhutan journey. After breakfast, you may choose between two excursions. The first option is a hike to the world-famous Paro Taktsang, also known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. This sacred monastery is dramatically perched on a cliff about 900 meters above the Paro Valley and is considered one of Bhutan’s most iconic spiritual sites. The hike offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and forests. Alternatively, travelers may choose a scenic drive to Chele La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks and the beautiful Haa Valley. Later, return to Paro and enjoy some leisure time exploring the town or relaxing at your hotel. Overnight stay in Paro.
Day 5 Departure from Paro Airport
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey. Our representative will assist you with the departure formalities and bid you farewell. As you leave Bhutan, you will carry with you unforgettable memories of its serene landscapes, spiritual heritage, and unique culture.
