Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival at Paro – Drive to Thimphu (Approx. 55 km | 1.5 hrs.)

Your journey begins with your arrival at Paro International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative. From here, enjoy a scenic drive toward Thimphu, the charming capital of Bhutan. On the way, stop at the historic Tachog Lhakhang, a beautiful temple founded by the legendary iron bridge builder Thangtong Gyalpo. After reaching Thimphu, check in at your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing and adjusting to the peaceful atmosphere of Bhutan. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 2 Thimpu Sightseeing

After breakfast, begin exploring the cultural highlights of Thimphu. Visit the sacred Memorial Chorten, built in honor of Bhutan’s third king and a place where locals gather for prayers. Continue to the magnificent Buddha Dordenma, which overlooks the valley and offers spectacular panoramic views. You will also explore Bhutanese culture at Simply Bhutan Museum and visit the Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s unique national animal. Later, enjoy panoramic views of the city from the BBS Tower and browse local handicrafts at the Handicraft Market. Overnight stay in Thimphu.

Day 3 Thimphu – Dochula Pass – Punakha (Approx. 85 km | 2.5 hrs. | Altitude: 1,350m)

After breakfast, depart from Thimphu and drive toward Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass at an altitude of 3,150 meters. This famous pass offers stunning panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges and features the beautiful 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens. Upon arrival in Punakha, check in at your hotel and visit the famous Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in Bhutan. Later, explore the majestic Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Overnight stay in Punakha.

Day 4 Excursion to Phobjikha Valley (Approx. 130 km round trip | 5 hrs. total)

After breakfast, embark on a scenic excursion to the beautiful Phobjikha Valley, a serene glacial valley surrounded by forested mountains. Visit the impressive Gangtey Monastery, which overlooks the valley and serves as an important spiritual center in the region. Enjoy a short nature hike through the valley’s peaceful trails and visit the Black-Necked Crane Information Centre, where you can learn about the rare migratory cranes that visit the valley during winter months. After exploring this tranquil region, return to Punakha for an overnight stay.

Day 5 Punakha – Paro (Approx. 125 km | 3.5 hrs.)

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and begin the drive back to Paro, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful valleys. Along the way, stop at Saba River Point for scenic views and photo opportunities. Upon arrival in Paro, check in at your hotel and begin exploring the town’s cultural landmarks. Visit the National Museum of Bhutan, which houses fascinating artifacts showcasing Bhutan’s history and heritage. Continue to the historic Rinpung Dzong, a magnificent fortress-monastery known for its traditional Bhutanese architecture. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 6 Paro Excursion – Taktsang Monastery Hike or Chele La Pass Drive

After breakfast, you may choose between two memorable excursions. The first option is to hike to the iconic Paro Taktsang, also known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff about 900 meters above the valley floor. The hike takes approximately five hours round trip and offers breathtaking views along the way. Alternatively, enjoy a scenic drive to Chele La Pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan, offering spectacular views of the Himalayan ranges and the beautiful Haa Valley. In the afternoon, relax in Paro town or enjoy an optional traditional hot stone bath. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 7 Leisure Day in Paro

After breakfast, enjoy a full day at leisure in the beautiful Paro Valley. You may choose to relax at your hotel, explore the charming streets of Paro town, visit local cafés and markets, or take short walks through the surrounding countryside. This free day allows you to fully experience the peaceful atmosphere of Bhutan at your own pace while enjoying the stunning natural scenery and cultural charm of the valley. Overnight stay in Paro.

Day 8 Departure from Paro

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure. Our representative will assist you with the airport formalities and bid you farewell as your memorable Bhutan journey comes to an end, leaving you with unforgettable experiences of the Himalayan kingdom.
